About Chris Dudley:
I have had an avid interest in art since
I was very young...even before school. I am primarily a self-taught artist, however as a youth I obtained valuable
knowledge and training which contributes greatly to my continual development as an artist. Throughout my
schooling I experimented extensively with a wide variety of artistic media. These include: paints (oils, acrylics
and watercolor), pottery, sculpting, origami, scratchboard, carving, metal-working, puter casting, pointillism and
paper mache', just to name a few. In addition, I have also studied Aborigini and Japanese Art. I
was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI; however, in the summer of my junior year of high school I moved to Brooklyn,
NY; where I continued my studies until graduating. Since then I have studied art indepentantly
in an effort to continually refine my skills.
While I enjoy many of the varied artistic media, my main
passion (currently) is for graphite drawing. I do, however, put my knowledge of these other artistic methods to
use when creating my pieces. Applying this knowledge is indispensable in my constant endeavor to make each
drawing "come alive". I also strive to bring a 3-dimensional aspect to all of my drawings, which a
photograph fails to capture!
